Welcome to your early preliminary look at all the movies and series scheduled to leave Netflix in the United States throughout August 2026.
As we head into the final stretch of summer, it’s time to start prioritizing your watchlists for the inevitable end-of-month licensing cull. In case you’re new here, Netflix licenses a large portion of its content from external studios. When those contracts expire, dozens of your favorite movies and shows have to make their exit.
We’re tracking some major departures this month. First up, Disney’s classic sitcom Home Improvement is currently slated to leave on the first of the month. We’re also seeing some potential departures from the AMC deal, with Fear the Walking Dead and A Discovery of Witches currently showing an August 19th exit (though keep your fingers crossed for a last-minute renewal!).
Elsewhere, Sony’s Venom: The Last Dance completes its first-window run late in the month, and a handful of Netflix Originals (including the Russian sci-fi series Better Than Us) will be departing the service for good.
Please note: This list primarily covers Netflix in the United States. Removals in other regions like the UK, Canada, and Australia will vary. As a preliminary list, this is a live document. We’ll be updating this post constantly throughout July and August as we learn of more titles expiring.
