Casting is underway for The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth, the recently announced and hotly discussed follow-up to the 2019 Quentin Tarantino movie Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. This week, we’ve learned that Aldis Hodge is currently in talks for a role in the new Netflix movie.

As a reminder, the new movie serves as an unexpected follow-up to the 2019 Quentin Tarantino movie, Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood, which was the director’s ninth movie. Brad Pitt is due to reprise his role as stuntman Cliff Booth, who will now be working in a new role as a Hollywood studio fixer.  Leonardo DiCaprio was reportedly negotiating to reprise his role in a cameo arrangement with David Fincher directing the Quentin Tarantino script with David Heyman, Shannon McIntosh, and Stacey Sher producing.

Hodge has been active on our screens for close to two decades, gaining initial prominence portraying Alec Hardison, a tech-savvy hacker, in the TNT series Leverage and its subsequent revival Leverage: Redemption. In recent years, the actor has been across both movie and TV shows, with notable movies including Straight Outta Compton, Black Adam, and The Invisible Man. He currently leads the Prime Video thriller series Cross, portraying detective Alex Cross.

Our understanding is that Hodge is in talks for the role of Harrell, a former NFL player who is now an actor. A path taken by plenty in Hollywood over the years, including famously Burt Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson, and Carl Weathers, to name but a few.

Last week, we first reported that Elizabeth Debicki was also in talks for a role in the highly anticipated new movie, perhaps only comparable in audience anticipation to Greta Gerwig’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew. Our understanding was that the actress, who famously played Princess Diana on Netflix’s flagship series The Crown, had an offer on the table for the role of Roberta, the manager of a mud wrestling bar.

The latest production intel suggests filming is scheduled to begin on July 28th and run through mid-January 2026, with a working title of UFP25.

As of the time of publishing, Netflix has not officially announced the project across its sites and social accounts portfolio to date. Netflix declined to comment for this casting tip.
