Murder Mystery is an upcoming Netflix Original mystery-comedy directed by Kyle Newacheck. The mind behind the film is the Amazing Spiderman writer James Vanderbilt. While he is the film’s main star, Adam Sandler also served as a producer for Murder Mystery with Happy Madison Productions, the production studio behind the film.

The synopsis provided by Netflix is the following:
“A New York cop and his wife go on a European vacation to reinvigorate the spark in their marriage, but end up getting framed and on the run for the death of an elderly billionaire.”

When and where did production take place for Murder Mystery?
The development of Murder Mystery began in 2010 and went through many changes before filming began. Numerous script changes and directors coming in and out of the project, at one stage, it looked like Murder Mystery was dead in the water.
After what must have felt like a hundredth script change, the script was eventually finalized, and Murder Mystery went into pre-production. In March 2018, it was announced Jennifer Anniston and Adam Sandler were cast (the pair’s first film together since Just Go With It), and by June, filming had begun.
