Netflix has lifted the lid of its preliminary 2024 slate with an assortment of reveals and dates announced for its upcoming lineup of movies, games, and series. Below, we’ll review all 50+ movies and documentaries confirmed to be released annually.
The slate reveal comes courtesy of Netflix’s big Next on Netflix event, where it showcased and debuted news regarding its 2024 slate.
We should hasten to note that this list doesn’t represent the comprehensive.
Let’s run through the full slate, recapping all the January 2024 releases first and then moving on to what’s coming up from February 2024 onwards.

- The Zack Snyder fantasy series kicked off in December 2023 and returns for its sequel in April.

- Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story – May 3rd
- A big ensemble cast comes together for this new comedy from Jerry Seinfeld about the rivalry between Kellogg’s and Post in the early 1960s.

- Mother of the Bride – May 9th
- A romantic comedy that’s directed by Mark Waters where Lana, played by Brooke Shields, faces a whirlwind of emotions when her daughter Emma, Miranda Cosgrove, returns from abroad with sudden wedding plans in Thailand.
- Thelma the Unicorn – May 17th
- Animated musical adventure about Thelma, a modest pony with dreams of becoming a glamorous music star.
Coming to Netflix in June 2024
- Hit Man – June 7th
- Richard Linklater directs this new action-comedy that recently premiered and showcased at a bunch of festivals and at Sundance. Based on a true story.
- Movie will only be available on Netflix in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam.
Coming to Netflix in July 2024
- Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F – July 3rd
- Eddie Murphy returns! Reprising his role as the charismatic Detective Axel Foley sees his daughter, played by Taylour Paige, faces a life-threatening situation, propelling him back into the streets of Beverly Hills. Mark Molloy directs.
Coming to Netflix in August 2024
- The Union – August 16th
- Directed by Julian Farino, this action-comedy stars Mark Wahlberg, who portrays Mike, a construction worker from New Jersey, whose ordinary life takes a dramatic turn when his high school ex-girlfriend Roxanne, played by Halle Berry, recruits him for a high-stakes U.S. intelligence mission.

- Jessica Alba plays a skilled Special Forces commando who unexpectedly inherits her father’s bar after his sudden passing, but trouble comes her way after she clashes with a local gang. Directed by Mouly Surya and written by John Brancato.

- A Family Affair
- A young woman (Joey King), her mother (Nicole Kidman), and her movie star boss (Zac Efron) find themselves entangled in a web of love, sex, and identity, leading to comical outcomes. Directed by Richard LaGravenese, written by Carrie Solomon, and featuring a cast including Liza Koshy and Kathy Bates.
- Atlas
- Jennifer Lopez headlines this action sci-fi movie as a data analyst who joins a mission to capture a rogue robot linked to her past, faces unexpected challenges, forcing her to rely on AI to save humanity; directed by Brad Peyton, written by Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite.
- Back in Action
- Former CIA spies Emily and Matt, portrayed by key cast members including Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, and Glenn Close, are pulled back into espionage after their secret identities are exposed. Directed by Seth Gordon and co-written with Brendan O’Brien.
- Blame The Game (Germany)
- German film directed by Marco Petry, where a young man faces the challenge of making a good first impression on his girlfriend’s friends at their game night.
- Carry-On
- Thriller directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, a young TSA agent, portrayed by Taron Egerton, is coerced by a cunning traveler, played by Jason Bateman, into allowing a hazardous package onto a Christmas Eve flight.
- Ferry 2 (Belgium)
- Action sequel directed by Wannes Destoop and sees the return of Frank Lammers and Huub Smit.
- Gut Health: The Secret Science of Eating (Documentary)
- Heart of the Hunter (South Africa)
- Spy thriller film based on Deon Meyer’s acclaimed novel
- His Three Daughters
- Directed and written by Azazel Jacobs, this awards contender stars Carrie Coon, Elizabeth Olsen, and Natasha Lyonne.
- Ibelin (Documentary)
- Recently acquired from Sundance, this documentary retells the story of Mat Steen, a Norweigen gamer who makes an impact worldwide through playing video games.
- Incoming
- Comedy film directed and written by Dave Chernin and John Chernin. About four freshmen, played by Mason Thames, Bardia Seiri, Ramon Reed, and Raphael Alejandro, who embark on their first-ever party experience, navigating the challenges and terrors of adolescence.
- It’s What’s Inside
- Recently acquired from the Sundance Film Festival, this buzzy horror
- Joy (United Kingdom)
- The remarkable true story of the groundbreaking birth of Louise Joy Brown in 1978 will be retold in this biopic by director Ben Taylor, with Bill Nighy leading the cast.
- Lonely Planet
- A reclusive novelist, portrayed by Laura Dern, seeks inspiration to overcome her writer’s block by attending a prestigious writer’s retreat in Morocco in this romantic comedy, where she’ll star alongside Liam Hemsworth.
- Meet Me Next Christmas
- Rusty Cundieff directs this new holiday-themed romantic comedy. Layla embarks on a quest for a fairytale romance with the man of her dreams. Her mission: to secure a ticket to the sold-out Pentatonix Christmas Eve Concert in New York City.
- Our Little Secret
- In this holiday comedy headlined by Lindsay Lohan, directed by Stephen Herek and written by Hailey DeDominicis, two resentful exes find themselves in an awkward and hilarious situation. They are forced to spend Christmas under the same roof when they discover their current partners are siblings.
- Pedro Páramo (Mexico)
- Based on the acclaimed novel by Juan Rulfo, this movie is directed by Rodrigo Prieto.
- Power (Documentary)
- Yance Ford is behind this documentary about America’s policing system and how it’s evolved.
- Rez Ball
- Directed by Sydney Freeland and written by Freeland and Sterling Harjo. The film revolves around the world of Native American basketball on the reservations in Oklahoma.
- Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie
- New from Nickelodeon, this new animated movie is set in the world of Spongebob Squarepants, focusing on Sandy. Features the voices of Carolyn Lawrence, Tom Kenny, Wanda Sykes, and Clancy Brown.
- Scoop (United Kingdom)
- Gillian Anderson, Keeley Hawes, Billie Piper, and Rufus Sewell headline this new biopic movie that seeks to provide a behind-the-scenes account of Prince Andrew’s infamous Newsnight interview.
- Six Triple Eight
- Tyler Perry’s WW2 drama based on the true story of the incredible and brave women of the first and only Women’s Army Corps unit of color to be stationed overseas during the conflict.
- Spellbound
- The first major movie from Netflix’s new pact with Skydance Animation. The film follows the adventures of Ellian, the tenacious young daughter of the rulers of Lumbria, who embarks on a daring quest to save her family and kingdom after a mysterious spell transforms her parents into monsters.
- The Deliverance
- Lee Daniels directs this new horror about a family moving into a home and discovering a portal to a demonic hell. Starring Andra Day, Glenn Close, Mo’nique, Anthony B. Jenkins, and Miss Lawrence.
- The Imaginary
- Studio Ponoc’s first major Netflix movie from a new output deal with the movie coming from director Yoshiyuki Momose.
- The Piano Lesson
- Based on the stageplay, this star-studded film features the talents of Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington, Ray Fisher, and Danielle Deadwyler.
- The Platform 2 (Spain)
- Sequel from director Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia for the Spanish horror.
- The Shadow Strays (Indonesia)
- Action film directed and written by Timo Tjahjanto
- The Tearsmith (Italy)
- Italian film directed by Alessandro Genovesi and written by Eleonora Fiorini and Alessandro Genovesi. The film draws inspiration from the book “The Tearsmith” by Erin Doom and is produced by A Colorado Film Production, with Alessandro Usai and Iginio Straffi as producers
- That Christmas
- Animated holiday movie from director Simon Otto.
- Time Cut
- A teenage girl travels back to the early 2000s to stop a vicious killer from murdering her sister in this new movie from director Hannah Macpherson.
- Ultraman: Rising
- Shannon Tindle directs this brand-new animated movie set in the world of Ultraman. Christopher Sean, Gedde Watanabe, Tamlyn Tomita, Keone Young, and Julia Harriman headline the cast.
- Uglies
- This long-awaited Joey King movie set in a world where cosmetic surgery at the age of 16 is mandatory, and society places a strong emphasis on physical appearance.
- Uprising (South Korea)
- Historical film from director Kim Sang-man set in the Joseon era, a period marked by turmoil and aftermaths of war.
- What Jennifer Did (Documentary)
- Jenny Popplewell directs this new true-crime documentary about how a dutiful daughter’s account of her family’s kidnap falls apart.
- Woman of the Hour
- A true-crime drama based on a stranger-than-fiction story set in 1970s Los Angeles. The film revolves around an aspiring actress and a serial killer in the midst of a murder spree, whose lives intersect when they both appear on an episode of the popular TV show The Dating Game.
