With a solid binge session having finished ourselves and many fans are already asking about a second season. But has Netflix renewed Cannon Busters? And when could we expect to see a second season? Cannon Busters is a Netflix Original anime series based on the comic book of the same name by author LeSean Thomas. After a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2014, a pilot of the series was released to backers in 2016. Fans of both the comic had been waiting an incredibly long time for Cannon Busters to be adapted into a full series.

As of yet, we haven’t heard any news on renewal for Cannon Busters. We can expect to learn more in the coming months but first Netflix will need to gather data on the viewing figures.

Does the story warrant a second season?

Oh most definitely. The series ended on a cliffhanger and left plenty of story to go into a second season.

What could we expect from season 2?

In the end, S.A.M and the gang were unable to rescue Kelby from his kidnappers.

With Kelby on his way to the Mystic Emporer, there are even more dangerous enemies standing in the way of S.A.M and her mission to reunite with Kelby.

S.A.M has only just discovered she is a Cannon Buster so expect to see more of her Cannon Buster form when powerful enemies arrive.

As for Philly… he’s super pissed that Bessie was totaled in the fight against Mystic Emporer’s minions. With no car to traverse Gearbolt the journey is going to be even longer. That being said, there’s every chance Bessie could be put back together again… or they find a new car.

But by the journey’s end, the evil Mystic Emporer will have to be dealt with.

Cannon Busters Season 2 Netflix Release Date

The release date entirely depends on the renewal of the series.

Taking into consideration how long the first season took to arrive, it could be a lengthy wait for season 2.

The first season was originally slated for a March release date. As to why there was a delay is still unknown.

We can’t imagine the second season would take so long to produce but we aren’t expecting to see another season until the latter half of 2020.

Potential Release Date: Q3 or Q4 of 2020
