The Breaker Upperers, a new Netflix Original movie pickup from New Zealand is on the way to Netflix around the world in February 2019.
The first we heard of the movie coming to Netflix was back in June of 2018 when it was announced that the streaming service had acquired the movie for international release. One of the co-producers said that Netflix picking up the movie abroad was “the icing on the cake for what has been a really wonderful experience”.
Here’s what else you need to know about the movie on the way to Netflix on February 15th, 2019. It’s going to be a busy month for Netflix Originals will already a handful of movies announced to release under the Netflix Original banner throughout the month.
What’s The Breaker Upperers about?
The movie is a comedy is written and directed by Madeleine Sami and Jackie van Beek and it also stars them both too.
The movie is about two women who set up a call center to help end relationships.

For the right price, BFFs Jen and Mel will ruthlessly end any romance. But when one grows a conscience, it threatens to derail their relationship.
What are the reviews like for The Breaker Upperers?
Reviews for the movie are relatively mixed. Over on IMDb, the movie is currently sitting at 6.1 out of 10 with over 870 reviews.
Reviews on RottenTomatoes are far more favorable with a Tomato score of 90%. The reviews point to a funny script and excellent contributions from the writers and stars of the movie.
Will the movie be released everywhere on Netflix?
Netflix will be carrying the movie everywhere with the exception of New Zealand and Australia. The reason for this is that they’ve already been distributed by two other companies who released the movie in cinemas last year.
That’s not to say that The Breaker Upperers will never come to Netflix but it’ll be down to the two distributors in those regions as opposed to Netflix themselves.
