When will Season 1 & 2 of The Expanse be on Netflix?
Syfy’s biggest sci-fi series ever has been making waves since it first aired in 2015. For some regions, the series became a Netflix Original and with season 2 set to begin airing on Syfy on February 1st, we thought we’d give you an indication as to when the second season will be coming to Netflix and for those in the US, whether the first will be streaming there.
Created by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, the series follows the events of the series of novels released by James S. A Corey. It’s set hundreds of years in the future when mankind has colonized the solar system, but a new threat is set to unravel the whole system and cause the extinction of mankind.
Let’s start by looking at if and when season 1 will be coming to those regions without it already and then look at season 2.
When will season 1 of The Expanse come to Netflix in the US, Canada, and New Zealand?
The only three countries to not stream the first season of the show is the United States, Canada, and New Zealand. For the United States, this will remain the case and will never likely come to Netflix streaming. The series first airs on Syfy and is available on their platform for catch up, but beyond that, the series has been picked up by Amazon Prime who streams the show exclusively. Canada and New Zealand may get lucky, but it looks as though it won’t be available there either.
When will Season 2 of The Expanse be on Netflix?
For those in the United Kingdom and all of the other regions that have The Expanse as an original, you will be getting season 2. Sadly, though, you won’t be getting it on a weekly basis like you do with many other shows like Reign, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Better Call Saul. We know this because the February 2017 preview has been announced and The Expanses is nowhere in sight.
Instead, you’ll get them all in one dump likely after the series has just finished which by our calculations is around April/May 2017.
