10

Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities

Episodes: 8 | Seasons: 1

From the animated franchise Tales of Arcadia to the Academy Award-winning Pinocchio and the soon-to-be-released Frankenstein, the Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro has been one of Netflix’s most fascinating collaborators. One series often overlooked is his anthology series Cabinet of Curiosities.

While del Toro never directed an episode, he served as showrunner and executive producer on the series. Each episode is unique and wonderfully written, with many leaving you on the edge of your seat. Even without him at the helm, the series still retains the Del Toro charm that fans love.

If you haven’t taken the time to watch a Cabinet of Curiosities, there’s no time like the present to add it to your watch list for Halloween!

9

Interview with the Vampire

Episodes: 15 | Seasons: 2

AMC has adapted several of Anne Rice’s beloved works, such as Mayfair Witches, The Talamasca: The Secret Order, and, arguably, the best of the bunch, Interview with the Vampire. The series has been well-received by critics and fans alike, and two seasons of the drama are available to stream on Netflix! Former Game of Thrones actor Jacob Anderson shines as the tormented Louis de Pointe du Lac, with Sam Reid also giving us an excellent performance as the iconic vampire Lestat de Lioncourt.

Dubai, 2022, and centuries-old vampire, Louis de Pointe du Lac, recounts his life and time as a vampire to journalist Daniel Molloy.

8

Yellowjackets

Episodes: 19 | Seasons: 2

Mixing teen drama and horror, Yellowjackets has been one of the best new horror shows of the past few years. The series features a large cast but somehow doesn’t get lost in the narrative as it switches between the past and present. Aided by the backdrop of a dangerous Canadian wilderness, the series is full of twists, turns, and constant intrigue. By the end, you’ll be asking for much, much more of Yellowjackets.

A talented high-school girls’ soccer team is stranded in the Canadian wilderness after their plane crashes. With little food and resources, the girls resort to desperate measures to survive, but the survivors, years later, are still dealing with the trauma of the drastic actions they took to survive.

7

Monster: The Ed Gein Story

Charlie Hunnam is a man transformed as the notorious serial killer Ed Gein, the inspiration behind the legendary horror villain Leatherface of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise.

Ed Gein, one of America’s most notorious serial killers, terrorizes his small Wisconsin town, murdering women, looting graves, and exhuming the corpses into keepsakes made of their bones and skin

6

Supernatural

Episodes: 327 | Seasons: 15

Supernatural, one of the longest series on The CW, had an incredible run with Jensen Ackles and Jared Palecki playing the Winchester brothers for 15 seasons. Now, while the series isn’t inherently scary, it’s still fantasy horror, and thus definitely belongs on this list. One of the best binges currently available on the Netflix library, without taking a break, it would take just shy of ten days to watch the series in its entirety.

One question remains… How long could it take you to watch all of Supernatural?

Sam and Dean Winchester, two brothers who have followed in their father’s footsteps as supernatural hunters, fighting paranormal and demonic entities across America as they search for the demon responsible for killing their mother.

5

All of Us Are Dead

Episodes: 12 | Seasons: 1

All of Us Are Dead took the world by storm in February 2022, and if it wasn’t for Squid Game, then the series would have been South Korea’s most successful Netflix Original ever. There are plenty of action-packed, terrifying moments throughout, and the series once again proves that Korea is currently setting the bar for the zombie genre.

Fans are also looking forward to the release of the second season, which, after three and a half years of waiting, is currently in production.

4

Kingdom

Episodes: 12 | Seasons: 2 | TV Movie: 1

The second Korean zombie title on this list, Kingdom, is one of the best-produced zombie horror series ever made. Stunning cinematography, a great story, intense action, but most importantly, making zombies scary again. We’ve been desperate to see a third season of the horror, but alas, we’ll just have to settle for 12 fantastic episodes and a feature-length special episode.

In the Joseon period of Korea, the Crown Prince Chang is caught in a political conspiracy and is forced to flee the capital. Upon his investigation into the man who treated his father, the King, Chang’s mission soon turns to dread as he learns the doctor’s work has led to the creation of a mysterious plague that raises the dead. As the flesh-eating epidemic threatens the country, the Crown Prince must unite the people and save Korea.

3

The Walking Dead Collection

TV Shows: 4 | Episodes: 308

In the 2010s, The Walking Dead was battling Game of Thrones for the title of the world’s most popular television series. While the series’s popularity has waned, the content certainly hasn’t. Even during The Walking Dead’s run, new spin-offs were spawned, such as Fear the Walking Dead. Since the series ended, the franchise has continued with fan-favorite Daryl Dixon getting his own spin-off and a New York-centred spin-off, Dead City.

With over 308 episodes on Netflix (season 2 of Daryl Dixon lands on October 21, 2025), that’s a minimum of 9 days of runtime! Time to prove who is more ravenous, a Netflix subscriber with an urge to binge, or a flesh-eating zombie.

The Walking Dead is centered on Rick Grimes, a sheriff of a rural police force, who, after being shot on duty, awakes a month later to discover the world he once knew has been ravaged by flesh-eating zombies.

2

Mike Flanagan Collection

TV Shows: 5 | Episodes: 44

Arguably one of the best filmmakers of the past decade, Mike Flanagan’s time at Netflix produced some of the streaming service’s best television. Beautifully blending horror and drama, not only will you get plenty of scares, but it’s nigh impossible not to shed a tear or two watching the likes of Haunting of Hill House and Haunting of Blyth Manor.

With 44 episodes split across five seasons of television, that’s plenty of hours to last you across your cozy October evenings.

1

Stranger Things

Episodes: 34 | Seasons: 4

Over 9 years ago, Stranger Things premiered on Netflix. No one would have guessed then that the series would grow to become a pop culture phenomenon and Netflix’s flagship series. There’s no time like the present to get started on a rewatch of Stranger Things, or perhaps even your first time, as we count down to the fifth and final season, which releases on Thanksgiving 2025!

1983, in the sleepy rural town of Hawkins, Indiana, the disappearance of Will Byers sparks a chain of events, leading his friends, his mother, and the local sheriff to uncover a government conspiracy, child experimentation, and the supernatural.
