Back with the Ex is the latest Netflix Original reality show pickup from Australia and if you’re wondering whether there’ll be another season, we’ve got all the information you need on the show plus the chances of a second season and when it’d likely drop on Netflix.
Let’s start off with an important point. Although the show is carried as a Netflix Original in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, the show actually originates from Australia (as you can probably guess from the accents). The series is actually an international exclusive for Netflix and actually airs first on Seven Network.
The series is the latest in a string of pickups from Seven Network in Australia. Previous titles to come to Netflix are Instant Hotel (renewed for season 2) and Yummy Mummies.
The first season consisting of seven episodes arrived on Netflix everywhere outside of Australia on January 11th, 2019.
What’s Back with the Ex on Netflix about?
The series looks to rekindle broken relationships by reuniting split couples in the hope of getting them back together.
There are four couples in season 1 that ranges from the early twenties to the fifties.
Will there be a season 2 of Back with the Ex?
As we suggested above, the series future is entirely down to Seven Network in Australia and not Netflix. Sure, Netflix’s money influx on picking the series up will likely push the creators into coming up with a second season but that’s yet to be announced.
That’s contrary to Instant Hotel and Yummy Mummies that have either already aired or soon to air their second seasons.
We are expecting season 2 to come but probably not until late 2019 at the earliest.
Assuming it gets renewed, it’ll air first on Seven Network before eventually coming to Netflix which will be multiple months after it finishes ending.
