The Chinese cooking show Flavorful Origins is returning to Netflix for a second season at the end of October 2019. Here’s what you need to know about the returning docu-series.

Netflix has been killing it in the kitchen over the past few months. It has created breakout hits such as The Chef Show which recently saw its second season arrive on Netflix, it’s managed to secure weekly episodes to The Great British Baking Show and has plenty more titles on the way in the arena.

Flavorful Origins is one of the first shows Netflix has imported from China, a region that Netflix doesn’t currently operate in itself.

The first season landed on February 11th, 2019 with 20 episodes that roughly spanned 10 to 15 minutes each in length. Season 1 covered Chaoshan Cuisine.

The series, despite being made for Chinese audiences is well adapted for Western audiences too. It comes with its original Mandarin language with English subtitles or an English dub narrated by Ronald Snow.

An additional season of Flavorful Origins was listed on Wikipedia for release at some point for release in 2019 which we’re not expecting has been rolled into this second season. The second season is labeled as Yunnan Cuisine which is a Chinese food trend sweeping across the United States at the moment.
