The name is Blood, James Blood. Doesn’t quite have the same ring to it but you can see the inspiration behind the name. Hero Mask has been met with a mixed reception since its release but many fans have still seemed to have enjoyed one of the latest original animes. The question is has it been renewed? and, when will a second season be coming to Netflix?

Hero Mask is a Netflix Original anime produced by animation studio Pierrot. The series debuted on Netflix with 15 episodes for its first season. The character designs were created by Takahisa Katagiri and the music was composed by Hisaki Kato.

Renewal Status

Official Renewal Status: Unconfirmed (Last Updated 12/10/2018)

It would be out of character for Netflix to announce the renewal of an anime so early after release. We won’t be seeing any information on this for of least a couple of months. The reason for this is because Netflix will be acquiring all the viewing figures over the next few months.

The first season has been listed as part one, so by that logic alone, we could expect to see part two. The first season appeared to act as a prologue for the overarching story.

What has the response been like on Twitter?

It’s safe to say the reactions have been mixed. If the series were to be canceled you would likely see many fans come forward to express their dismay.

When would season 2 air on Netflix?

The second season has been confirmed to arrive on Friday, August the 23rd, 2019!
