Who’d have ever thought we’d see the day that Gilbert Gottfried would be dressed as Adolf Hitler and roasting Anne Frank? After a controversial start to life on Netflix, Historical Roasts has had people talking and whether you love it or hate it there are plenty of people who certainly want more from Jeff Ross and co. That being said has Netflix renewed the stand-up series for another season? Let’s find out.
Historical Roasts is an American Stand-Up comedy. The series is hosted by comedian Jeff Ross, who also served as one of fourteen further writers of the series. Multiple American stand-ups comedians have taken part in the series with notable names such as Seth Green, Gilbert Gottfried, and Jaleel White.
Transcending space and time historical figures take to the stage to get roasted. Five heroes of history and fellow noteworthy persons of their time will tear into one another during the roast. This is certainly history but not quite as you know it.
Historical Roasts Season 2 Netflix Renewal Status
Official Netflix Renewal Status: Pending (Last Updated 04/06/2019)
Don’t expect to see news of renewal until of least the end of June. Typically Netflix doesn’t announce the renewal of a series until of least a month has passed. This is so they can gather all the date on the series and how well the show was received by subscribers.
Despite the controversy surrounding some of the more sensitive subjects that have been roasted, we are expecting the series to receive renewal. With such a plethora of historically colorful characters throughout history to choose from, Historical Roasts could last for many more seasons to come.
How did subscribers respond to Historical Roasts?
Suffice to say the nature of a show like Historical Roasts can split opinions in half. There are plenty of subscribers that have shown their love for the series online but there has also been plenty to express their disdain for the stand-up show.
Lmao just found a Netflix gem called Historical Roasts. These guys roast historical figures while also educating you. It’s so good.😭😭😭😭

Good thing comedy is subjective buddy…
Netflix’s series Historical Roasts making fun of Anne Frank is a new hideous low of Holocaust themed humor. The defense of this humor is worse. Elie Weisel once warned that holocaust trivialization is more dangerous to memory and lessons of the Holocaust than Holocaust denial.

Based on the successful format celebrities are roasted by colleagues, Historical Roasts is more fun and educative than mean harsh roast. In 6 episodes Roastmaster General Jeff Ross receives historical figures and their contemporaries. This is American stand up comedy at its best. pic.twitter.com/Dkb8lPm8uG

Historical Roasts Season 2 Release Date
This of course entirely depends on whether or not Historical Roasts is renewed for a second season.
If the series is to be renewed within the next month or so then we could potentially see the next season release later this year.
Filming for the series took very little time and only lasted from the 4th of November to the 18th of November. Surprisingly post-production only concluded on the 30th of April 2019. Assuming further material has already been writtem for potential future seasons then the production of Season 2 could be considerably shorter.
We don’t expect to see Historical Roasts return until the end of 2019 or early 2020.
Potential release date: Late 2019 / Early 2020
