It’s back! After what has felt like an age Star Trek: Discovery has finally returned to Netflix. After a massively successful first season, it comes as no surprise that CBS renewed for another season on the iconic franchise. So the question is when will Netflix air the latest episodes after the US? Let us help you with that, here is your Netflix release schedule for Star Trek: Discovery.

Thanks to the release of Star Trek: Discovery CBS All Access received a record number of subscribers during the first season. Star Trek is a ginormous franchise and it’s incredible that even after 50 years the demand for more content is still going strong.

Star Trek: Discovery is a prequel series set roughly 10 years before the events of Star Trek: The Original Series. The story is centered around science specialist Michael Burnham and the crew of the USS Discovery and their role during the war between the United Klingon houses and the United Federation.

What can be expected from Season 2?

*Potential Spoilers Below*

The series will continue to take place in what is known as the Prime Timeline. Therefore the events of the series take place in the television universe and not the rebooted cinematic timeline. The USS Enterprise is set to take a large role in the story with Captain Pike in the hot seat prior to Captain Kirk. The USS Discovery will help the Enterprise in its investigation into mysterious red bursts of light spread light years apart. Spock is linked to these mysterious lights so Burnham must jump into the action to help her adoptive brother.

Section 31 is also set to feature very heavily in the second season of Star Trek: Discovery. The first appearances of Section 31 came in the series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and has subsequently featured in Star Trek: Enterprise and Star Trek Into Darkness. For those unaware of Section 31, they are an autonomous intelligence and defense organization that operate in secret and not subject to the constraints of Starfleet’s ethical protocols.
