The Breaker Upperers is a New Zealand Rom-Com that was created by Madeleine Sami and Jackie van Beek.
The pair not only wrote the film but also directed and starred in their own cynical Rom-Com. While the film has already been out in New Zealand and Australia for almost a year, it didn’t receive an international release until Netflix came along. The film debuted in cinemas in March of 2018 and brought in over $3 Million (NZ) at the box office. The Breaker Upperers is also the first New Zealand Netflix Film to arrive on the streaming service.

Two best friends, Mel and Jen, have made an incredible business out of professionally breaking up romances. For a price, if you are unhappy with your partner, the pair will elaborately destroy your relationship. But when one-half of the pair begins to grow a conscience and questions their business practice, it threatens to destroy their friendship.
