Praise Satan! It has been recently announced by Netflix that The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been renewed by Netflix for another season! This is huge news considering we haven’t seen Part 2 just yet and Netflix tends to take its time on renewals. Considering the immense popularity of the show it shouldn’t really come as that much of a surprise to see the show renewed.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a Netflix Original American web-television series based on the comics of the same name. The character of Sabrina has been around for decades and has entertained audiences through comics and tv shows. This has lead the character to become one of the most recognizable names in fiction and is arguably the most famous witch in fiction.

Unlike the Sabrina, we once knew in the ’90s the latest iteration of the Teenage Witch takes a much darker spin in this narrative. This lead to many being apprehensive at first but the show has soon proven to be one of the best titles that Netflix has to offer. Consequently, thanks to the shows overwhelming success thus far has lead to Netflix renewing the series for another season!

Parts, not Seasons for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina?

We can help clarify what Netflix means by parts rather than seasons. Currently, on Netflix, we are waiting for the 2nd part of Sabrina to air. Once the finale has aired this will be the end of the first season. Each ‘part’ is not a season of tv but rather one half of the season itself.

So for parts 3 and 4, this is technically classified as the second season. So they can release the 2nd part faster the studio films both parts back to back. The best comparison we can give for the time in between seasons is imagining it as one long mid-season break.

So how many episodes will Season 2 of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina air?

Parts 3 and 4 will have 8 episodes each, therefore, season 2 will have a total of 16 episodes. This does not include any themed episodes that may be planned for the second season.

Season one will end with 21 episodes in total as there is no confirmation on any further episodes like the Christmas special. Ironically this would make a lot of sense if there was another episode considering most CW shows air roughly 22 episodes a season.

When will production/filming begin for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina season 2?

Production is likely to begin in the Spring or Summer of 2019. This is because the production of the 2nd part of season one isn’t over just yet. Filming of season one began in March 2018 and ended on the 18th of December.

Crew members of Sabrina also work on the production of Riverdale. The 2 series isn’t officially connected but production is handled by the same studio. The time taken before filming begins is used to write the script and hire any new cast members needed. Taking this into account could equate to months before filming begins for the second season.

When will season 2 of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina air?

This will depend on when production begins for the second season. Taking into consideration there are four fewer episodes to film (2 less for each part) it is probable that season 2 will air in the fall of 2019. We’ll ensure to update you further once we have more information.

When is the release date of Part 2 for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina?

Part 2 will be coming to Netflix on the 5th of April, 2019!
