Sing – Illumination Entertainment / Universal Pictures

The singing sensation movie from 2016, Sing has departed from Netflix after 18 months on the service. Why has it left, will it return and where will it stream next? We’ll take a look below.

The double Golden Globe-nominated movie released back in 2016. It featured a massive range of some of the biggest stars including Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, and Seth MacFarlane. It released right around the time and went toe-to-toe with Zootopia.

Most to all of Illumination Entertainments movies come to Netflix several months after their theatrical release. In the case of Sing, it released on Netflix on August 3rd, 2017. It then remained on the service for 18 months up until February 4th, 2019.

Sing remains available on Netflix in Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom for the foreseeable future.

The most recent removal of Illumination’s titles was back in October 2018 when Netflix removed The Secret Life of Pets. The next Illumination movie to come to Netflix is The Grinch.

Where will Sing be streaming next?

If we had to guess, we’d predict that Sing will be making its way over to FX so, therefore, will be streaming on FX Now in the near future. That’s been the case with The Secret Life of Pets and Minions which both currently reside there.

Netflix’s DVD.com service also carries the movie for rental.

Will Sing 2 be coming to Netflix?

In case you haven’t heard, a second title is in production. Sing 2 is currently for released at the end of next year (December 2020). We’ll have more on this as we get closer to the release date.
