Netflix’s run of anime this year has been pretty damn hot, but what isn’t hot is the fact that popular shonen series Fire Force isn’t on the service. We know why Fire Force isn’t available to stream on Netflix and we can point you in the right direction on where to find the series.

Fire Force is a Japanese anime series based on the manga of the same name by author Atsushi Ōkubo. The series began its serialization on September 23rd, 2015 in the Weekly Shonen Magazine. It didn’t take long for the series to gain momentum and was only a matter of time before it received an anime adaptation. The studio behind the anime is David Production, whose previous work has been on other popular titles such as Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure and Cells at Work!.

In the not too distant future, rising sea levels have caused chaos for the world. Entire countries have been lost to the sea and continents have been carved. Japan’s landmass has dramatically decreased, forcing the population to gather within the ‘Tokyo Empire’ where the Holy Sol Temple and Hajima industries have the Amaterasu, perpetual thermal energy plant. A new special unit within the Tokyo fire brigade is formed when Infernals, humans that spontaneously combust, begin to appear. To combat the “Infernals,” the Fire Force is granted powers by the Holy Sol Temple.

Why Fire Force Season 1 isn’t on Netflix US

It all comes down to licensing, and unfortunately, Netflix doesn’t hold the license to stream episodes of Fire Force. Streaming services such as FUNimation and Crunchyroll have dominated the anime market in the US for years now. While Netflix is improving its output of anime, especially Original content, it still has a long way to go to match its competitors.

If you want to watch Fire Force then you will need a subscription to either Crunchyroll or FUNimation. The former stream English Sub episodes while FUNimation has access to the Sub and Dub.

Will Fire Force ever come to Netflix?

It’s highly improbable but not impossible that Fire Force will come to Netflix.

The only other David Production series on Netflix currently is Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure. Even then, that series only has one season on Netflix when there are four seasons in total.

It may take a very long time for Fire Force to arrive but we have hope we’ll see it sooner rather than later.

Is Fire Force streaming on Netflix in other regions?

By now you’ll know the drill that Japan is currently the only region streaming Fire Force on Netflix.

You’ll have to look to other streaming services if you want to stream episodes of Fire Force.

In the United Kingdom, you can catch episodes of Fire Force on Crunchyroll and FUNimation.

AnimeLab is the home of anime in Australia, so a subscription to the service will grant you access to episodes.
