DC Universe has seen massive success with its original program Titans. Hoping to replicate the success of the former series, Doom Patrol is the latest series of original programming making its way to the DC streaming service. With the success of Titans being credited to the latest release on Netflix, will Doom Patrol also be coming to Netflix? Let’s find out.

Doom Patrol is a live-action adaptation based on the characters of the DC Comic characters of the Doom Patrol. Created by Jeremy Carver, Doom Patrol takes place in the DC Universe of original programming. Doom Patrol is the second live-action series after Titans for the DC Universe streaming service.

Set after the events of Titans, the Doom Patrol receives a mission from Cyborg that they cannot refuse. Coming out of hiding for the first time the team must learn to work together, fight crime and take care of their dysfunctional family.

Who are the Doom Patrol?

The Doom Patrol is a team of vigilante superheroes in the DC Comics. First appearing in issue #80 of My Greatest Adventure in 1963, the team has been popular amongst fans for over 50 years. The misfit bunch had been described as the ‘World’s strangest superheroes’, and over the past 50 years, there have been seven iterations of the team’s roster. The Doom Patrol typically carries out the deeds of other vigilantes by fighting crime, stopping villains, and saving the lives of civilians.

In the live-action iteration of the team, the entire team was brought together by Dr. Niles ‘The Chief’ Caulder. Prior to meeting Dr. Caulder, the members of the Doom Patrol had been abandoned by society. Thanks to the doctor’s incredible gift for science and medicine, he saved the Doom Patrol members and gave them a safe haven to live.

Who is in the cast of Doom Patrol?

Some very recognizable names and faces have been cast as members of the Doom Patrol.

Will Doom Patrol be coming to Netflix US?

Sadly, like its Titans counterpart, Doom Patrol would not be coming to Netflix US. This is because the franchise is exclusive to the DC Universe streaming service in the US.

Will other regions be streaming Doom Patrol?

We do have news on the status of Doom Patrol for Europe. HBO has picked up the license to air the superhero series. Therefore, it won’t be coming to Netflix. What this means for the United Kingdom, we’re unsure, as one of our sources is yet to confirm where Doom Patrol is landing.

Doom Patrol not coming to Netflix UK

UK subscribers will be disappointed to learn that Doom Patrol will not be coming to Netflix UK. StarzPlay has picked up the DC series all will be available to stream from January 2nd, 2019.

This is incredibly disappointing as Doom Patrol’s sister series, Titans, is currently available to stream.

Is Doom Patrol going to cross over with Titans?

Some of the Doom Patrol characters were introduced in the first season of Titans. Considering that Cyborg is a well-known member of the Teen Titans the natural progression for his story is eventually to join Robin and Co. It is highly likely then that we may see a member or two of the Titans help the Doom Patrol out.

Is Titans and Doom Patrol part of the DCEU?

With the emergence of Cyborg, it is safe to say that the TV Universe is separate from that of the DCEU. There is a wealth of potential for the latest iteration of a live-action universe for DC. With many other characters waiting in the locker of DC, the foundation has been set for a fantastic expanded universe for DC for their live-action series.

How many episodes will there be for season one of Doom Patrol?

Doom Patrol will air 13 episodes in its first run. Rather than releasing all the episodes immediately, each episode will air week to week.

Is there a trailer?

DC dropped a teaser trailer for Doom Patrol recently!
