Castlevania season 3 has been in production for quite a while but could be dropping in Netflix around the world on December 1st. Is this true? Where is the rumor coming from? Let’s take a look.

The animated series is among Netflix’s best with two seasons having released thus far. Season 1 only consisted of 4 episodes so left fans hungry for more and thankfully, more were produced for season 2.

Season 3 has been in development for some time with the renewal announced late last year. Since then, apart from a brief appearance on ‘Enter the Anime‘ it’s been relatively quiet.

That’s until November 25th, when a regional Netflix account Tweeted a list of its upcoming release. Netflix Nordic covers Netflix in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.  As a few fans spotted tucked into December 1st is Castlevania’s third season.

We’ve included an image of the Tweet just in case it gets taken down too.

Netflix Nordic Castlevania season 3 release

So, will Castlevania season 3 be released on Netflix on December 1st? It seems unlikely. Instead, this is likely a mistake posted by the account.

As a global Netflix Original it’s likely that all regions will be the recipient of the series together but given no other accounts have posted nor was it included in the official December 2019 list of titles, it’s probably not going to happen.

In addition, most Netflix Originals drop on Fridays and December 1st lands on a Sunday his year.

This isn’t the first time Netflix has accidentally put dates out. Netflix Netherlands recently Tweeted out that You season 2 would arrive on Netflix on December 31st and it eventually transpired it’d release on December 26th.

While we wait for confirmation of the release date, we do know one thing, that Castlevania season 3 is on the way and given this announcement, it doesn’t sound like we’ll have to wait too long.
