Ozark Season 2: Coming to Netflix in August 2018

Netflix’s newest gritty thriller blew audiences away on its season 1 release on July 21st, 2017 and already many will be looking to the future for news and a Netflix release date for season 2 of Ozark. Let’s take a look as to what’s going on with the show and its future on the streaming service.

Jason Bateman leads in his second Netflix Original after appearing for the reboot series of Arrested Development. This role is a polar opposite of his role on that show as he plays a financial advisor who works for a drug ring and has to relocate his family and launder $500 million or face grim consequences.

Anyway, you probably know most of that and want to get into the juicy information on season 2, let’s move on.

OZARK Season 2 Renewal Status

Official Renewal Status (Last Updated: 08/16/2017): Renewed for a second season!

Netflix has officially renewed the show for a second season just under a month after the first season landed on Netflix. The show has garnered lots of buzz up to the release and retained it after which makes it an obvious choice to renew.

What to Expect from Season 2

Expect spoilers

At the end of season 1, we’re left with Marty brokering a deal with Jacob and Del but that’ll only likely buy him a limited amount of time. Season 2 will see the ante upped on Marty. Similar to other shows such as Breaking Bad, we’ll also likely see Wendy and Marty grow further apart but at the same time growing their business interests and doing anything it takes to not get caught.

We’d expect the show to stick with the ten episodes format given how it needs enough time to build up the tension and deliver a payoff that doesn’t seem too stretched out.
