Spirit Riding Free will be returning to Netflix on April 5th for its eighth season. Here’s what we can expect from season 8 and whether we’ll be getting a season 9 of Spirit Riding Free.
The eighth season will make Spiriting Riding Free one of the longest-running Dreamworks shows on Netflix which will be on par with Voltron which ran for eight seasons before ending. With the release of season 8, it’ll also overtake Dragons which only ran for 7 seasons.
Dreamworks and Netflix have worked on many projects together and their Spirit Riding Free series is one of the few projects where the series is based on a much older movie.
The last season of Spirit Riding Free came to Netflix on November 8th, 2018. We’ve been getting new seasons of the show every three to four months.

The announcement of season 8 came on the show’s Facebook page who on March 5th, gave us a one-month countdown to the release of season 8.
That means that all Netflix regions will be getting the animated show back on Netflix on April 5th, 2019 and this can be confirmed if you navigate to the official Spirit Riding Free Netflix page where a new notice has popped up regarding season 8.

Will Spirit Riding Free be back for season 9?
Season 9 of Spirit Riding Free could happen but at the moment, we’re unsure. Given that we rarely hear about new seasons, it’s likely we won’t know (unless a big hint is given at the end of season 8) the future of the show until summer 2019 when a season 9 would’ve been scheduled for release.
Sadly, we couldn’t find any further evidence to point out whether there’ll be a season 9 so for the moment, we’ll just have to wait patiently and keep our fingers crossed.
