Disney’s big Christmas movie of 2018 is coming to Netflix in the United States and Canada in May 2019. Here’s a look at when we’re expecting Netflix to get The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms features some big talents coming together for a modern take on the Nutcracker story. It stars young Mackenzie Foy (known from Twilight), Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean, Pride and Prejudice), Morgan Freeman, Matthew Macfadyen, Ellie Bamber, Helen Mirren, and Jack Whitehall.

The United States got their theatrical release on November 2nd, but moviegoers might be skipping the release thanks to some awful reviews.

When will The Nutcracker and the Four Realms be on Netflix?

If you’re waiting for the movie to be released on Netflix, you won’t be watching for Christmas 2018. Instead, you’ll likely be waiting towards the middle of 2019.

That date has now been confirmed to be available on May 28th, 2019.

For those in the United States, this movie will likely still be covered by the Disney contract. In said contract, all movies released between 2016 and 2019 will be coming to Netflix.

Based on our projections, we’re expecting it to release between June and August 2019 and then remain on the service for a year and a half.

Canadians can also expect the movie to be added and will likely be around the same time.

What about other regions?

Brits do tend to get Disney theatrical releases, but not until several years later as Sky owns the first wave streaming rights meaning that NowTV will be your best option.

As we’ll cover later in the year, this will seemingly be the only Nutcracker movie to be added or available on Netflix.

Netflix does have plenty of Christmas content on the way for you in 2018 as we’ve covered in-depth.

There you have it. Will you be heading out to the cinemas to watch the new Nutcracker movie or waiting for it to drop on Netflix? Let us know in the comments.
