Berserk is an adventure and dark fantasy series based on the Manga series of the same name by Kentaro Miura. One of the most brutal and heart-wrenching anime titles you will watch, Berserk is infamous for its brutal story and no holes barred action. The franchise of Berserk has existed for three decades, with the first chapter debuting in 1989 which is still ongoing to do this day. By September 2018 a total of 40 volumes with 357 chapters have been published.
Guts was a wandering mercenary, becoming a legendary warrior of incredible strength through feats of battles in the war-ravaged country but always sought solitude away from people. Upon meeting the charismatic leader of a band of mercenaries, Guts is convinced to join the Band of the Hawk.
Is Berserk currently streaming on Netflix US?
The Berserk series from 1997 is much harder to find than that of its 2016 counterpart. Berserk isn’t currently available to stream on Netflix US and there aren’t any official streaming services you can use either. If you want to watch Berserk series legally you will need to purchase the box DVD or Blu-Ray box sets. There is a YouTube channel that has a playlist of the English dub of Berserk from 1997, but that could be copy-striked at any time.
Alternatively, you can watch the Berserk trilogy that is currently available on Netflix. The story from the three movies covers the plot from the anime series.
Is Berserk streaming on Netflix in other regions?
Currently, the only regions you can stream Berserk are France, Belgium, and Switzerland.
Canada will also have to settle for the Berserk Trilogy, as the series is not available in that region.
In the United Kingdom this even harder to find, but you can purchase the box sets on DVD and Blu-Ray.
As for subscribers in Australia, you will need a subscription to AnimeLab which you can stream all of the Berserk content available.
