Netflix has lined up a new adult animated comedy for its upcoming lineup, with The Undervale landing a straight-to-series order at the streamer.

The logline for the series, which Netflix won at auction under the working title of Haunted Hotel, is as follows:

“A single mother of two struggles to run a haunted hotel with the help of her estranged brother, who is now one of the ghosts and thinks the other ghosts have some pretty good ideas.”

No cast announcements were made during the initial show reveal. Likewise, there is no release date as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted on all developments in the future.

Alongside the announcement today, Netflix released two upcoming first looks for the new series:

Who’s in the creative team behind The Undervale?

Matt Roller is spearheading the new project as creator, showrunner, and executive producer, having worked most recently on Dan Harmon’s Karpopolis, Mr. Mayor, and The Goldbergs. Other credits include Rick and Morty, Community, and FX’s Archer.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Netflix and an amazingly talented cast and crew to bring to life the stories of the dead, the evil, and the struggling hospitality workers at the Undervale Hotel,” said Roller in a statement via a press release.

Elsewhere, Chris McKenna (Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Far From Home), Dan Harmon (Rick & Morty, Community), and Steve Levy (Rick & Morty, Community) will serve as executive producers.
