We’re now in December and the countdown to Christmas is officially on. You may be looking for all the brand spanking new Christmas movies Netflix has for 2021. Below is our ongoing guide for the new Christmas movies added to Netflix globally and the new licensed movies for the United States and the United Kingdom.

We’re going to split this article into three sections. We’re going to cover the global Christmas releases first and then dive into Christmas movies licensed for Netflix in the United States and Netflix in the United Kingdom.

This list starts from November 1st, 2021, and any Christmas movies licensed throughout the year beforehand are not included.

Originating from Mexico, this comedy is unlikely to find much of a crowd given early reviews the movie is a hard skip but if you do fancy checking it out, here’s what you can expect:

“A family trip to the beach turns crazy when Servando and Alicia, Alma’s willful aunt, start an over-the-top competition to control Christmas.”

A California Christmas: City Lights

Netflix’s Christmas lineup more than any other it seems are more likely to get sequels and that applies to A California Christmas which is back this year for another entry.

The movie picks up a year on from the original story with Callie and Joseph having to leave their ranch for family business in San Francisco all while planning their upcoming wedding.

David and the Elves (2021)

Available with various dubs and subs, this Christmas movie originates out of Poland with a young boy moving to a busy city ahead of Christmas but is losing the Christmas spirit with his parents absent. An elf named Albert helps correct that.

Reviews are down the middle with it currently carrying a 5.1 on IMDb.

Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas (2021)

One of Netflix’s big LGBTQ movies of the year is Single all the Way. The movie follows Peter who asks his best friend to pose as his boyfriend on a Christmas visit home, but their plan — and feelings — change when his family plays matchmaker.

Akin to what you’d expect from Hallmark or Lifetime, A Castle for Christmas is the feel-good Netflix Christmas movie of 2021.

Here’s what you can expect:

“To escape a scandal, a bestselling author journeys to Scotland, where she falls in love with a castle — and faces off with the grumpy duke who owns it.”

Variety gave the movie a glowing review saying it’s “gently disarming, heartening, holiday-themed escapism that’s as satisfying as a cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter’s night.”

A Boy Called Christmas (2021)

If you only have the time to watch one new Christmas title from Netflix in 2021, A Boy Called Christmas would be our recommendation. The superbly crafted family adventure movie will no doubt appeal to all and reviews thus far seem to agree.

We should note some key regions like the United Kingdom are not currently streaming the movie. In that instance, Sky Cinema has acquired the movie.

Short on time? At just over half an hour, this stop-motion Christmas special is an absolute treat. The special comes from Aardman Animation from the United Kingdom who are behind the Shaun the Sheep movies and the upcoming sequel to Chicken Run coming exclusively to Netflix.

“An optimistic young robin raised by a family of mice makes a heartfelt wish on a Christmas star. Will she finally learn who she is — and how to fly?”

Waffles + Mochi’s Holiday Feast (2021)

The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star (2021)

This Dutch movie (English dub is available) sees a young boy boy finding out that his grandfather is Santa Clause and is in trouble. Sadly, Jules is not a huge fan of Christmas so getting him on board to help save Christmas isn’t going to be easy.

The movie sits at a 5.6 on IMDb.

My Dad’s Christmas Date (2020)

The second movie is nowhere near close to achieving the same heights as the first movie but is still a solid Christmas watch.
