Fox Shows Leaving Netflix End of 2017/2018

Netflix is going to continue losing FOX shows towards the end of 2017 and the start of 2018. A new deal struck between Fox and Hulu and Netflix opting out of the majority of Fox shows means that shows will expire when they come up for renewal.

The new Hulu deal will be bringing most of Fox’s library to the streaming service and in many cases, exclusively too. Netflix lost the contract earlier this year when it stated that it would not be renewing Fox shows. This means that when the renewal time comes around (a year from when it was added first) the show would expire and leave Netflix forever.

A blog that tracks content on Netflix US (sometimes with errors, it’s worth noting) has released a timetable of when Fox titles will be renewed which we’ve adapted below.

What’s on Netflix can’t verify all the dates below, but given the Hulu announcement, previous FOX shows leaving, and renewal data we have, we believe the following dates to be at least in the ball park of when these shows are leaving.

What about FX titles?

Some blogs have picked up that FX titles such as The League, Always Sunny in Philadelphia and American Horror Story are also leaving. We’re yet to see anything concrete on this but if we do, we’ll produce a separate article. We do know that Netflix recently paid out for the exclusive rights of American Crime Story so it’s expected these contracts are handled differently.
